Food on the brain

I went to the library yesterday and ended up with two cookbooks (Rachel Ray's 30 Minute Meals 2, and Better Homes and Gardens Cooking for 2) and 4 memoirs that have something to do with food (Eat, Pray, Love; Garlic and Sapphires (about being a food critic); Stuffed (about a restaurant family); and Aphrodite: A Memoir of the Senses by Isabel Allende that has food on the cover.
In addition, this week I have a mini-goal that also revolves around food. I am bound and determined to finish eating some of the stuff that has been in my cabinets and freezer for months. You know the stuff. That stuff you buy for one specific recipe or meal and then it sits there until some kid comes by collecting cans for a food drive. Like the homeless need fajita seasoning mix and cans of oriental mixed vegetables. Or maybe they do. I don't know. Anyway, armed with a grocery list to help round out the meals I will be cooking stuff and getting those 1/4 full bags of frozen veggies, leftovers, and random cans of whatnot the heck out of my life.

let us know how some of that stuff comes out...i tend to throw all that stuff either in a soup or a stir fry (turns out you can eat just about anything over rice with a little bit of either soy sauce or hot sauce).

Colleges often have a lot of rules the students need to follow. After all, a bunch of 18-21 year olds can't really be expected to self-govern on their own, at least not 24/7, no matter how vehement they are that they can do just that. Gone by the wayside

I have no idea if anyone is reading this anymore. If you have been loyally checking back now and again I applaud you. At one point this blog was a therapeutic outlet for me. I'm glad to have a chronicle of my experiences during this time of my life. Now, however, instead of a creative outlet it's more of a nagging reminder that I should be posting and this girl does not need one more thing on her "To Do" list. I'd love for you to explore the archives if you so chose. If you have already done so, here's a brief update: Friendster Guy and I are still together and co-habitating. We are in domestic, but still unwedded, bliss (that status could be a post or two in and of itself, but, as I've just said, I'm done with that.) We're so domesticated we're in the market for granite countertops. We also just returned from an Aussie/New Zealand vacation and if 8 days in a tiny RV won't solidify (or destroy) a relationship nothing will. We're stronge...
