Addendum to Resolutions

I'm adding two things to my New Year's Resolutions -

5) Read more using this list as a guide: 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die. I have no idea how many I've already read. I'll have to make a spreadsheet. You can do anything with a spreadsheet. Not that you should, but you can.

6) Get a massage every 6-8 weeks. This probably doesn't need an explanation. I had one for only the 3rd time this week. It's been at least 4 years since my last one. My gym has a spa attached to it and they had an intern doing free massages. Hello? Sign me up! Now that I've had one I'm wanting more. If I eat out less I might even be able to justify it. I wonder if I can write it off on my taxes?

I browsed through the first 50 or so and only recognized one or two books/authors. I had a friend that subscribed to Book magazine. She was GREAT at picking out books for the book club.

Dude, trade your services with a massage therapist who wants to get in better shape. An hour for an hour. You'll both be in better shape in no time flat.

I'm going to have to make it 1003 books you must read before you die by adding American Gods by Neil Gaiman and Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury.

Do you have health benefits? I know that I can claim massages under my health plan up to $600 a year. I'm lucky like that. :) But trading services like Jennifer suggested is sheer GENIUS.

Hmm, I think I'm going to have to consult that book list more often for reading choices. Spreadsheet, ho! :P

Sadly, the many trainers at my gym have tried the, "Hey, I'll train you if I can get a massage" trading scheme and the masseurs/massueses (sp?)aren't buying it.

Sadly (part deux) I do not have health insurance at the moment. Or at least I haven't paid for Cobra yet. But I'll be sure to look into that when I do!

Put something up on Craigslist or something, and use a non-identifying e-mail address so as to keep out the riffraff, but you can definitely find massage therapists interested in trades. They might not work at your gym, but they work somewhere. My massage therapist trades for everything. Everything.

Meanwhile, I know my chiropractor trades his services for personal training. Maybe you can set up some kind of circular trade. Don't give up!
