It doesn't matter if you're moving to the house next door or to Zimbabwe, you end up needing to buy way more stuff than you ever expect while you settle in - shower curtains, welcome mats, stuff to hang up pictures, cleaning supplies, etc... Moving at this time of year is an extra challenge because, no matter how small the purchase or how quickly you think you'll just pop out and grab something, you have to fight holiday shopping craziness.
All I want is some wire I can use to hang a picture and a bath mat but I feel like I have to wait until January before I can safely and sanely do so. I really don't want to have to stand in line behind 34 people with shopping carts loaded with crapola no one in their family really needs. And I do mean crapola that NO ONE needs. Think before you buy people. And Mom, if you're reading (which I hope you are not), put down the crapola and get me what is on my list. If it is not on the list I do not need it. If it is readily available at The Christmas Tree Shops I don't need it. I don't even really need what is on my list. How' bout this, just send food. It'll save me from having to go grocery shopping as well.
