Horse before the cart?

Long time readers will remember how, in February, my X's girlfriend paid $9,000 to have his vasectomy reversed and how if they had been married it would have been free on her insurance. In case you're just joining me here at Big Girl Underoos, they got pregnant pretty much the first time they took the newly reconnected genitalia out for a spin, so to speak. They are due to have their baby any time now.

Yesterday, I hear through the grapevine that they just got married. Very little details are known but it was small and private and it doesn't appear that anyone was invited.

Call me crazy, but if I was committed enough to a man to want his child AND I could have saved myself $9,000 by getting married way back in March, I would have. I swear to god that man was taken over by pod people. Thank god he's not mine anymore. Phew.

This sounds like a spectacular lack of planning to me. Did the girlfriend reverse the vasectomy just on principle, or what? You know, I bet the answer wouldn't make much sense.

I am ready for the snip-snippity-snip myself. Because we have enough kids, thanks. And also, I bet I get a couple of days just relaxing after the procedure, and that'd be nice. Nothing like a little elective surgery to get yourself some r&r.

Be careful what you wish for. I believe the R&R is tempered by a little black and blue...

I really want to say it's better than a kick in the pants but I think it's actually pretty comparable. ; )

Colleges often have a lot of rules the students need to follow. After all, a bunch of 18-21 year olds can't really be expected to self-govern on their own, at least not 24/7, no matter how vehement they are that they can do just that. Gone by the wayside

I have no idea if anyone is reading this anymore. If you have been loyally checking back now and again I applaud you. At one point this blog was a therapeutic outlet for me. I'm glad to have a chronicle of my experiences during this time of my life. Now, however, instead of a creative outlet it's more of a nagging reminder that I should be posting and this girl does not need one more thing on her "To Do" list. I'd love for you to explore the archives if you so chose. If you have already done so, here's a brief update: Friendster Guy and I are still together and co-habitating. We are in domestic, but still unwedded, bliss (that status could be a post or two in and of itself, but, as I've just said, I'm done with that.) We're so domesticated we're in the market for granite countertops.
